My List of Social Injustice

My List of Social InjusticeThis is the first in a series of articles about my own list of social injustices. It is an almost endless list.Working in the legal field, I have seen too many cases that make my blood boil and I know too many victims of bad law enforcement. However, I must be very careful not to conflate police brutality with unethical behavior by judges and juries. Those are separate things.Over the years, I have been involved in a number of projects that center on the criminal justice system. While I am sympathetic to victims of wrongdoers, there are too many abuses and violations of rights in our system that need to be stopped immediately. There are too many race-baiting and too many assumptions. These things must stop and all abusers must be held accountable. Many of the victims and witnesses of crimes against little girls and women have grown up and are adults. Many others still have children.Young girls are still being sold for sex by pimps and other sex offenders. Pi mps and traffickers prey on children from the age of three or four. Sadly, many young girls have become collateral damage of an overly aggressive justice system. My list of social injustices may seem unending. I recognize that the abuse and victimization of many innocent people are a travesty. However, every time I see a victim of injustice, I also see a chance for the rehabilitation of society. It is not the crime scene where I find these possibilities. It is what is left out of the crime scene that exposes the true problems. We must be honest about the failures in our judicial system. We must hold those who break the law accountable and prevent the next one from ever hurting another human being. Our list of social injustices is not so long because we can do something about it.
